PRODUCT NAME
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) Quantitative RT-PCR Kit
INTENDED USE
The kit is used for the qualitative or quantitative detection of HCV
RNA in human serum or plasma by Real time RT-PCR method. It
can be used to determine the infection of HCV virus, evaluate
antiviral treatment and monitor the therapeutic effect by monitoring
HCV RNA baseline levels and changes in patient blood. The test
results of this kit should be combined with other relevant medical
examination results for comprehensive analysis, and should not be
used as the diagnosis basis alone.
SUMMARY
The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a small, enveloped, single-stranded,
positive-sense RNA virus. It is a member of the genus Hepatitis C
virus in the family Flaviviridae. HCV is spread primarily by direct
contact with human blood. It is a major cause of acute hepatitis and
chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis and liver cancer. Detecting
HCV RNA in blood will be helpful in determining the infection of HCV
virus and monitoring disease progression and response to antiviral
therapy.
